TCA opened the new year with a 92-31 win over Poetry Community Christian. The Trojans controlled the game on both ends of the court from the opening tip, making an emphatic return to the MCB following the conclusion of tournament season.

The senior backcourt of JJ Price (29 points) and Christian Cox (28 points) provided the Trojans all the cushion they would need en route to the win. Forward Drake Smith joined his Trojan teammates in double figures, scoring 11 while going 5-6 from the foul line.

The Trojans held Poetry to just 27.8% shooting from the floor, and TCA's 17 offensive rebounds and zero points allowed off turnovers kept TCA comfortable in front throughout the night.
