THE RUNDOWN
Christian Cox scored 17 points, JJ Price added 14 and the TCA varsity boys basketball team defeated Prestonwood 51-40 on Tuesday night in Addison. The double-digit win completed a season sweep of the Lions and sends the Trojans to the regional round of the TAPPS 6A playoffs against John Paul II.
TCA (21-13) found multiple ways to control the game. The Trojans shot better than 30% from three-point range, outscored Prestonwood in the paint and held the Lions to just 16 combined points across the middle quarters.
Blake Dinkins led Prestonwood with 16 points and was the only Lion to reach double figures as PCA dropped its second straight contest to the Trojans.
