THE RUNDOWN
The Trojans (18-11, 2-1) saved their best offense for last, scoring 25 points in the fourth quarter to shake past a pesky Warriors (12-18, 1-2) team that hung around throughout the game. The 15-point victory helped TCA hold down the No. 2 seed in the district standings.
JJ Price erupted for seven 3-pointers made, scoring a game-high 24 points as TCA shot a white-hot 50% from beyond the arc. Price was joined in double figures by
Christian Cox (17 points), who also added seven rebounds and three assists.
Ericksen Appel (14 points, game-high 7 assists) scored in double figures for the sixth time this year.
In what has become a trend throughout this homestand, TCA took an opponent's best punch in the first half before making adjustments at halftime. Liberty Christian's Jason Drake (15 points) and Cash McCort (11 points) did a majority of their damage in the early quarters before the TCA defense clamped down to close out the game.
