THE RUNDOWN
Liberty Christian took the district opener over the Trojans, 63-17, Friday night in Argyle. The Trojans found ways to move the ball throughout the first half, leading three drives into the red zone in front of a raucous crowd celebrating Liberty Christian's first home game of the year. A 28-point second quarter decided the game in favor of the Warriors, but despite the final outcome, several Trojans achieved new milestones in their athletic careers.
TCA (2-3, 0-1) pulled out all the stops on the first drive of the game. The Trojans flawlessly executed a double pass to capture an early offensive spark and converted a fake punt on a drive that ultimately ended with a four-yard touchdown run from Campbell Laible ( 13 carries, 49 yards).
Sophomore quarterback Davis Crumrine (16-for-19, 146 yards) made his first start and threw his first varsity touchdown on a deep ball to Jude Tredennick. The touchdown by Tredennick was the first of his career on the varsity roster, as the defensive back turned wide-out led all Trojans with 48 yards receiving.
