TCA Â is excited to share that 11 members of the varsity volleyball team have earned TAPPS 6A District 1 postseason honors. The news arrives following a 13-win 2025 campaign in which TCA boasted a winning record at home (6-5) and a .500 mark (2-2) against district foes to secure the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.
Junior Olivia Whorton was named the District MVP following an incredible season for the Trojans. Whorton led the team with 93 kills during district play and finished top-5 in all of TAPPS 6A with 358 kills on the year. Whorton was joined on the superlative list by senior Nora Newman, who was named the district's Offensive Player of the Year. A four-year member of the varsity team, Newman put the finishing touches on her TCA career with 242 kills for the season and a team-best hit percentage of 0.294 during league action.
Freshman phenom and first-year Trojan, Sydney Stewart, also made headlines on the All-District team. Stewart was dubbed the district Newcomer of the Year after posting 464 assists in 80 sets played, a mark that ranks top-10 in all of TAPPS 6A.
The trio of Whorton, Newman and Stewart was also dubbed First Team All-District selections. TCA was further represented by Sarah Wong, Peyton Walton, and Lily Brewer, who were all named Second Team All-District honorees.
Not to be outdone, however, a district-best five Trojans received an Honorable Mention. As seniors Lily Hayes and Maddie Scott were joined by fellow upperclassmen Nataleigh Brown and Natalia Kattan. Freshman Parker Lowe rounded out TCA's All-District roster.Â
