THE RUNDOWN
The 2025 Trojan Volleyball season came to a close last week in a 3-0 loss to Bishop Lynch in the Area Round of the TAPPS playoffs. Despite the outcome on the court, the Trojans displayed a familiar resilience and determination that fans of the program have grown accustomed to seeing in this team all year long. After falling behind 25-12 in the opening set of the match, TCA battled back in the ensuing frames, drawing closer to the Friars 25-18 in the second set before falling 25-19 in the final frame.
TCA ends the year with an overall record of 13-13-2, a notable improvement for the program. In her first full year at the helm, Coach Erin Terry led the Trojans to a winning home record (6-5) and a .500 district record (3-3), ensuring the Trojans earned the right to host a playoff game for the first time in recent history.
Outside hitter Olivia Whorton headlined the TCA offense all season long. The junior led the team in kills (398), hitting percentage (0.274), kills per set (4.2) and finished second on the squad in aces (28). Fellow upperclassman Nora Newman helped buoy the Trojan attack, finishing second overall in those same categories: kills (242), kills per set (3.3) and hitting percentage (0.274).
Juniors Sarah Wong and Natalia Kattan anchored the Trojan defense. Wong led the team with 309 digs, while Kattan totaled 270 despite missing several games on the year. Kattan was also the team leader in digs per set (4.2).
