THE RUNDOWN
Trojan Basketball moved to 3-0 on the year following a decisive 72-43 win over The Covenant School Thursday night in Addison. A TCA squad that has benefited greatly from white-hot perimeter shooting in recent days did not need that luxury against the Knights, blasting past the Knights to the tune of 42 points in the paint.
For the second game in a row, three Trojans muscled their way into double-digit scoring, relying on offense in the mid-range and attacks directly at the rim to carry the load offensively. Junior Drake Smith had his best game as a Trojan, scoring 24 points while going a mechanical 6-7 from the free throw line. Fellow first-year Trojan Christian Cox also had a solid night at the office, shooting 8-11 from the floor while tacking on a team-best five assists.
Not to be outdone, JJ Price (25 points, five 3PM) continued his incredible start to the new season. The senior guard has scored over 25 points in all three games this year and is averaging 27 points per game for the year.
