THE RUNDOWN
A 33-point second quarter gave the Trojans all the margin they needed to blow past Cristo Rey Prep last Thursday night in Dallas. TCA outscored the Fire 33-9 in the second period in a game they would go on to win by a score of 80-38.
The 42-point win marks TCA's largest margin of victory in two years, with three Trojans scoring in double figures. JJ Price led the way, scoring 28 points for the second time in as many games. Additionally, Drake Smith chipped in 19 points and six boards as TCA's presence in the paint.
The squad also received big boosts from underclassmen Ericksen Appel and William Flatt. Appel scored 15 points and was the primary facilitator with a game-best eight assists, and Flatt led both teams with five steals.
