THE RUNDOWN
TCA ushered in the new basketball season with a 59-41 win over the Cardinals of Fort Worth Christian last Thursday on the road. The 18-point win came in large part to a strong night of perimeter shooting for the Trojans, as TCA shot over 37% (11-29) from beyond the arc.
Senior guard JJ Price led both teams in scoring with 28 points on a white-hot 7-11 from three. Joining Price in double-figure scoring was first-year Trojan Christian Cox, who poured in 22 points and grabbed 10 boards in his TCA debut.
Another new Trojan, Drake Smith, also made his presence known. The first-year forward grabbed a game-high four offensive rebounds for a Trojan squad that outrebounded the Cardinals 37-21 for 11 second-chance points.
