Beck Brydon Named New Executive Director of Athletics

TCA is excited to announce the hiring of our new Executive Director of Athletics, Beck Brydon. Coach Brydon is a leader defined by his faith, humility, and perseverance in his pursuit of excellence.

Coach Beck Brydon, also known as "Coach B," has spent the last 28 years in Christian education in Texas. His longtime vision is to redeem sports for Christ — one heart, one team and one event at a time.

Most recently, he was the director of student impact and varsity head football coach at Second Baptist School in Houston, TX. In three seasons at the helm of the football program, Brydon led the Eagles to the state semifinals and two consecutive state title games.

From 1997-2023, Coach Brydon served at Regents School of Austin. He helped launch the middle school football program and then became the school's first varsity head football coach in 2000, a position he held for twenty seasons. In 2004, Coach Brydon joined Regents in a full-time capacity as their director of advancement, and in 2006, he became the school's director of athletics, serving in that role until his move to Second Baptist in 2023.

Brydon is an executive board member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), the primary governing body of private school athletics and fine arts in the state, and has been a district president for 18 years.

Coach Brydon has been married to his bride, TCA alum Trish ('90), for 31 years. They have three adult children, Will Tyler, Annie and Benjamin.

Coach Brydon will officially begin serving TCA full-time in early May.
