THE RUNDOWN
The Trojans (2-2) dropped a 31-29 ball game to St. Mark's last Friday night at Tom Landry Stadium. A game that featured five lead changes – three of which came in the second half – ultimately came down to special teams, as the Lions emerged victorious on the other side of a fourth-quarter shootout.
Despite the final score, bright spots are evident up and down the Trojan box score. Seniors Chase Griffin and Campbell Laible both recorded career-high totals on the ground and through the air. Laible rushed for 116 yards and a score, while Griffin erupted in an unforgettable fourth quarter, making back-to-back one-handed grabs to pull the Trojans back within two points on his way to a career-high 150 yards receiving.
Return man and wide receiver Ben Brewer continues to cement his place within the Trojan offense. The standout sophomore found the end zone for the third time in the last two games following an incredible catch over a pair of defenders early in the fourth quarter.
