THE RUNDOWN
The varsity softball team fell to Legacy Christian by a score of 15-3 in the Area Round of the TAPPS Playoffs on Tuesday. The final from Frisco ends the season for the Trojans, who steadily improved in recent weeks entering the postseason.
TCA (5-14) jumped out to an early lead courtesy of a two-run double off the bat of junior outfielder Hannah Grace Coleman. The extra base blast by Coleman drove in Mae Sharpe and AnnMarie Martinez to give the Trojans a 2-0 lead they would carry into the home half of the first inning.
However, the Eagles (19-11-1) scored three runs in each of the first two innings to jump back out to a comfortable 6-2 advantage before a five-spot in the third gave the Eagles a lead that could not be challenged the rest of the way.
