THE RUNDOWN
The Trojans cruised past the Nolan Catholic Vikings by a score of 12-2 Friday night in Fort Worth. The 10-run win secures the season series for TCA, as the Trojans have now won two straight to improve to 3-3 in district play.
TCA wasted no time getting to work offensively, opening things up with a six-run first inning. Mae Sharpe (3-5) opened the game with an infield single that eventually snowballed into a two-run double by Ella Krone (2-5, 2 RBI) and an extra base blast from Peyton Walton.
Momentum fully shifted in favor of the Trojans with two-out magic in the second inning. A home run from Ella Stewart (3-3, 2 RBI) energized the Trojan bats, as TCA outscored the Vikings 7-0 the rest of the way.
Defensively, Ella Krone went the distance for the TCA pitching staff, striking out six while conceding just two earned runs on the day.
