Cross Country Participates in OSU Jamboree

Trojans battle heat and hills in Stillwater

THE RUNDOWN
Trojan Cross Country participated in the annual OSU Cowboy Jamboree last Friday morning on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. The Trojans ran incredibly hard, battling tough heat and hills in a field that featured over 25 high school programs from Oklahoma and Texas.

The boys did not have enough runners to earn a team score. But Sebastian Lee was named Coach Moore's Runner of the Week for his performance at the Jamboree. On the girls side, the Lady Trojans placed 17th overall with 397 points.

Jessie Lu paced TCA, finishing top-40 in the 100-runner field with a time of 23:47.8 in the Small School Girls' 5K division.

COACH MOORE ON THE TEAM'S PERFORMANCE:
"Both our girls and boys teams raced well and showed a lot of heart. The course was tough, but what stood out most was how we handled the heat—it was more of a challenge than the hills. We learned a lot about ourselves on Friday, and according to the kids, when we return to this course, they will be ready to take it on with even more confidence."
