Wes Tarbox serves as TCA's first-ever Athletic Chaplain. He is also the head coach of the junior varsity baseball team and a varsity baseball assistant coach. Wes is a proud TCA graduate (class of '86) who previously held the position of Pastor of Student Ministries for 16 years at Grace Church in Lucas, Texas. He has a passion to see students own their faith and put it into action with the confidence of who God designed them to be. He holds a Ministerial License through the EFCA (Evangelical Free Church of America) and a BA in Business Administration and Economics from Austin College.
Wes has coached various levels of youth, high school, and college-prep baseball since 2006. In 2023, he helped guide the Trojans to the TAPPS Division I title. He also won a state title in 2017 as the head coach for Lucas Christian Academy. A team captain and two-time MVP during his playing days at TCA, Wes garnered three all-district selections, multiple all-state honors and a team MVP award.
After high school, Tarbox played at Austin College as a four-year starter and earned numerous all-conference selections. Coach Tarbox then took his talents over to the Prep baseball ranks, compiling a record of 323-134-9 as the head coach of the Allen Wranglers, a collegiate prep club team based in Collin County. Taking one team from 12U-18U, sixteen boys went on to play collegiately at various levels, including one who was drafted and played professionally.
He and his wife Melissa reside in Allen and attend Brookhaven Church in McKinney.
