Trinity Christian Academy

Steve Hayes has 34 years of teaching and coaching experience. In addition to coaching at TCA, he has been an assistant coach at Plano East High School, offensive coordinator at Odessa High School and head coach at 6A Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma. While in Enid, Coach Hayes served as the boys athletic director from 2015-19. During his time in Enid, he authored an athletic strategic plan that produced significant improvements in athletic facilities and program structure and created vertical alignment among the different programs.  

As an athlete in college, he started and lettered in football and track at Colorado College before transferring as an invited walk-on to play football at Texas Christian University. He received his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Texas Christian University with certificates in government, psychology, health and physical education.  

Steve Hayes is married to Mendy, a fourth-grade teacher in Frisco ISD, and has three children, Jake, Madison and Lily. He also has a daughter-in-law, Natalie; son-in-law, Colton; and two grandsons, Nash and Dax. Steve and Mendy attend Gateway Church in Frisco.
