Coach Yanof has led the Trojan Softball program for over 10 years. While the program and players have improved year after year, he is most proud of the spiritual growth his players strive for and exhibit.
His players exhibit grit and perseverance, as reflected in Romans 5.3-4: “suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope….” These verses remind us that there are no shortcuts to grit and perseverance—they only come through striving for excellence to the point of falling and failing, then deciding to get up and continue striving.
It is with this attitude and culture shift that Trojan Softball competes for a state title almost every year. In 2021, TCA advanced to the 5A Regional Finals. In 2023, TCA Softball again advanced to the 6A regional round. Finally, in 2024, TCA Softball advanced to 6A State, finishing in the top four teams in the state of Texas.
Mike is married to Cynthia—they have been married for 24 years. They have three children: Kate, Brett and JB.
