Coach Edwards is in his 25th year coaching at TCA. He began coaching at TCA in 2000 following a 30-plus year real estate career.
A native of Dallas, Coach Edwards graduated from Hillcrest High, where he earned All-City honors in basketball and track and was the 1963 State Champion in the 440-yard dash. He was awarded a track scholarship at SMU where he received his BBA in Finance in 1967 and his MBA in 1969.
Coach Edwards and his wife Carole met at SMU and have been married 58 years.
They have two children, Amy and Alan, both graduates of TCA. Amy (Prideaux) is the Director of Admissions at TCA. They have nine grandchildren. Two of their grandchildren graduated from TCA and now attend Oklahoma, while two twin granddaughters are currently attending TCA.
Coach Edwards and Carole have been longtime members of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. Coach Edwards is the winningest coach in the history of TCA Athletics.
He owns 12 TAPPS Golf championships and is a two-time Coach of the Year award winner.
