Coach Haverty comes to TCA with 18 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate level, having coached at Texas Tech, TCU, UT, Lamar University and most recently at SMU as well as Parish Episcopal School of Dallas. He has experience coaching both offense and defense. Coach Haverty's coaching career has allowed him to coach and play with some of the best coaches in football, including Sonny Dykes, Gary Patterson, Kliff Kingsbury, Mike Leach, Lincoln Riley, Rhett Lashlee, Randall Joyner and Chidera Uzo-Diribe. He has also coached and recruited multiple NFL draft picks, including Patrick Mahomes, Brandon Stephens, Rashee Rice and Broderick Washington.
Coach Haverty graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in business management and holds a master's degree in educational administration from Texas Christian University. While at Texas Tech, Coach Haverty was a four-year letterman as a wide receiver and led the Big 12 in receptions in 2004. He was an Associated Press and Sports Illustrated All-American.
