The TCA Boys Golf team claimed the TAPPS Match Play crown at the conclusion of the final round Wednesday, September 23 in Waco, Texas. The two-day tournament featured five rounds of nine-hole match play, with five athletes competing in head-to-head matchups each round. The Trojans opened competition at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course against Liberty Christian, the spring 2026 TAPPS State Champions. After defeating Liberty Christian, the second-round matchup saw the Trojans defeat St. Thomas High School out of Houston. The final round on the first day was versus John Paul II, where the Trojans completed the opening day undefeated.

Competition continued Wednesday at Bear Ridge Golf Club where TCA defeated Nolan Catholic in the fourth round. The final nine holes were against Lutheran South Academy where the team fought their way to claiming the TAPPS Match Play Championship.

Noah Liu and Luke Olive led the way for the Trojans, each posting a perfect 4-0 record and earning All-Tournament honors. Bentley Long finished 2-1, while Matthew Lowery recorded a 2-0-1 mark. Brady Glover, Matthew Carter, Ben Solomon and James Thompson also each contributed a match victory during the tournament.

The undefeated play for the team comes after a tough outing in Scottsdale, Arizona to open the fall season. The team will return to action October 6 at the Glen Rose Invitational hosted at Squaw Valley Golf Course.
