The Trojan JV Football team kicked off the 2026 season Thursday night at Tom Landry Stadium against the Grapevine Faith Christian School Lions. In the opening quarter, Bodie Strawn connected with Sawyer Mayo for a long touchdown that put the Trojans ahead 7-0. The Lions' quarterback found the endzone on a sneak at the 8:23 mark in the second quarter, but a failed 2-point conversion attempt kept the Trojans ahead 7-6. The Trojans extended the lead to 14-6 on a deep connection to Jack Frisbie in the corner of the endzone and went into halftime with the lead.

In the second half, the Lions battled back and found the endzone to bring the score to 14-12. In the final quarter, the Lions scored again with 7:19 remaining to put them ahead 14-20. Both defenses brought the pressure and forced fourth down turnovers. The Trojans had the final possession of the game, but a couple penalties pushed the offense back. In the last attempt, Bodie Strawn scrambled to find an open receiver, but the pressure of the Lion defense was too much.

The Trojans will return to action at Tom Landry Stadium on August 27 at 6 p.m. versus Episcopal School of Dallas.
